Servia Excavation 1971-1973
The aim of the Servia 1971-3 excavation was to excavate the area 15m south of Heurtley's 1930 excavations. Initially five four-metre-square trenches were opened and a clear sequence of early Bronze Age, Late Neolithic and Middle Neolithic were identified. Stone wall fittings were found in two instances in the Middle Neolithic levels, and one Early Neolithic house had a timber floor. There are finds that were found representing all known periods of prehistoric occupation.
Active from 30/08/1971 to 10/09/1973.
