Agrileza Excavation 1995-1997: Season 1995
Excavation: Research excavation
Following the limited joint' excavations at Agrileza in 1995 on Washeries A and B, preliminary work was undertaken on the pottery by Mr J. Elhs Jones, who also re-sorted and boxed the 'tailings', soil and plaster samples. The samples were transferred to the Fitch Laboratory for study by Dr E. Photos.-Jones, who concentrated on the plaster samples, arranging the preparation of thin slides and appropriate analysis techniques. In July Mr Jones resumed work on the samples at the Fitch Laboratory for three weeks, sieving 'tailings' and soil samples into a range of particle sizes and weighing and recording the results (in the last, aided by Mrs H. Tomlmson). He also studied the sherd material in the Laurion Museum.
Active in /09/1995.
