East Taurus 1891
This is an expedition by D.G. Hogarth and J.A.R. Munro in 1891 through Asia Minor from Mersina on the S. coast to Samsun on the Black Sea, passing through the Taurus mountains. Part of the purpose was to map ancient and modern routes, look for inscriptions and ancient sites. Brief accounts of the journey are recorded in Hogarth and Munro's Report to the Geographical Society in 1892 and in Hogarth's 1896 book, A Wandering Scholar in the Levant. The book includes a fold out map with routes taken.
Active in 1891.
