Rhitsona Excavation 1907-1909: Season 1908
Excavation: Research excavation
Seven more graves were discovered in this season, some with large deposits of whole vases and other objects dating to the Boeotian archaic period. The significance of the finds from the excavation is it provides information on the comparative date of early Boeotian pottery. Other late Greek tombs were also uncovered with a quantity of Tanagra style figurines. A row of Roman graves was also identified and explored.
Active from 24 Mar 1908 to 11 Apr 1908.
